"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree! With an unerring sense of swing and a velvet voice, the daughter of Dizzy Gillespie reworks this classic Peggy Lee material in a style all her own, accompanied by a killer rhythm section. And check out the superb solo work by sax veteran Red Holloway throughout, and the star turn on clarinet by Paquito D'Rivera. For anyone who loves Peggy Lee, and for fans of Jeanie Bryson, this is a "must have " CD!"
A total delight!

"Ms. Bryson's taste, phrasing and sense of humor compare most favorably with Miss Peggy's. It's a ftting tribute, and most certainly not an imitation. You won't be disappointed--it's one long smile."
A fitting tribute to a living legend

"Undaunted by the inevitible comparisons, Bryson succeeds admirably in honoring Peggy Lee. Her relaxed, swinging sensibility creates the same wonderful mix of vulnerability and sophistication, and she does this without gimmicks or mimicking Lee's unique style. Buy it!"
Good Singing and Good Playing

"I'd recommend this CD on the quality of the accompanyment as much as the singing. Without sounding old fashioned, it really swings. Paquito D'Rivera holds forth on clarinet, with Red Holloway on Tenor and Ronnie Buttacavoli on Trumpet. A five piece rhythm section fills out the band. The singing is great too, but it's not often the band is this good. Enjoy!"
Fantastic ......It's The Only Fitting Description

"I only wonder why she hasn't recorded more often! On this cd she doesn't try to imitate Peggy Lee, to her credit, but she still has a lot of similarities in phrasing , nuance and intonation. She has a very sensuous delivery which I can only describe as late night....verging on the erotic. The supporting musicians, particularly tenor saxist Red Holloway and guitarist John Chiodini are a perfect fit to the spell that she weaves.
This is a late review with the cd having been out for a number of years but anytime the cd is played the listener has to admit that this is one fine songstress!"
