"Another album of Jazz Moods gives us a chance to enjoy "Jazz In The Afternoon" for a "take it easy" part of the day with some of the most talented artists performing ten classic tunes. There are many selections from - "IF I WERE A BELL" (Frank Loesser) performed by Gary Burton & Friends, light-upbeat and lively - "EASY LIVING" (Ralph Rainger/Leo Robin) the Alan Broadbent Trio plays this relaxing and stylish theme - "LUV IN THE AFTERNOON" (Jeanie & Jimmy Cheatham) low-down blues and with a beat performed by the composers. A few stand outs - "DAYDREAM" (Ellington/Latouche/Strayhorn) performed by Karin Allyson, simply beautiful - "SASHAY" (Oscar Brashear) with talented Rickey Woodard at his smooth and flowing best.Producer Nick Phillips and Concord Records have outdone themselves with this outstanding compilation for a walk in the park or a stroll down memory lane for you the listener to enjoy anytime of the day - but how about - "Jazz In The Afternoon"!Total Time: 63:09 on 10 Tracks/ Concord Records - CCD 5214 2 (2000)"
