Why is this the only Jane Russell CD out there?

"I do wish one of the terrific labels specializing in repackaging old LPs onto CD would put out a definitive Jane Russell CD. Until then, this will have to do. It's interesting to note that the tracks don't appear to have been lifted directly from the film's audio tracks. The songs from "The French Line" are a bit different from the ones featured in the movie, which makes them all the better. (I imagine they were featured on a soundtrack LP released in the 50's). One cautionary note: Jeanne Crain is credited with her own vocals, but this isn't true. She was in fact dubbed for "Gentlemen Marry Brunettes" by the underrated Anita Ellis, a fantastic session vocalist from the Golden Age of movies and radio. So that's Anita vocalizing with Jane on this CD. Still, it's great that these songs are available on CD."

"Though not the best I've ever heard, I can't say that it was the worst either. The songs are good. However, the quality of the recordings is a little less than good. Since the movies that the songs came from on far from good movies, a person would not expect to hear good songs come off of this recording. However, the songs are rather enjoyable and worth listening to numerous times. I thoroughly enjoy this C.D. and it has provided hours of listening enjoyment. A must have for all the Jane Russell fans out there and her only recording, as of now, on C.D."
