"The only better performance of Machine Gun is by Hendrix himself. I admit it- I'm not a big fan of standard "classical" music. Much of that genre seems to have much of the energy wrung out of it. Not so for Vogler and The Knights."

"thoroughly enjoyed this entire album. I've long been a fan of the Knights. Their youthful exuberance and excitement add to the dynamic sounds. One can almost feel and touch the energy! Jan Volger beautiful sound is captivating."
A Live From N.Y. Experience

"This album featuring cellist Jan Vogler and the N.Y.C. orchestra "The Knights" is an ear-opening and winning experience from beginning to end.
The musicians tenderly perform poignant and wistful waltzes by Shostakovich and they deliver the goods with a forceful and dynamic performance of the Shostakovich Cello Concerto. Volger is virtuosic and the "Knights" are supportive and responsive. Although it is a live performance, the sound is balanced and present.
The arrangement of the Jimi Hendrix tune "Machine Gun" is a real mind-blower!
This album of music in contrasting styles is a real find."
Wild, wonderful live performance!

"I saw this concert and was amazed. Shostakovich arrangements made me think and feel transported into his world. Hendrix via orchestra (where he once played in its first incarnation) was momentous. Interplay of VOgler (East German cellist) and The Knights was fluid and fervent, and we sat right by them, flying along."
