"Virtually unknown on this side of the Atlantic, this CD is a wonderful introduction to the unique talents of Brit songstress Jackie Trent. Trent has a big, beautiful voice, and can slide easily from sweeping, Italian-style pop ballads ("Open Your Heart") to showtunes ("The Sweetest Sounds") to jazz ("Here's That Rainy Day") to Northern Soul ("Send Her Away") and back to sweeping, Italian-style pop ballads ("Our Song").The title song "Where Are You Now My Love" (a No.1 hit in the U.K. back in the 60's) is a standout. Against a backing track that recalls the "wall of sound" Phil Spector created for the Ronettes and the Crystals, Trent coos the verse like a heartbroken Dusty Springfield before building to a full-throated belt on the chorus. My favorite is her very grand take on Scott Walker's "Such A Small Love". With a thunderous, Bassey-esque orchestra spiraling to a crescendo in the background, Trent belts Walker's off-kilter lyrics with such conviction that you would swear the words made sense. Discovering Jackie Trent was wonderful surprise, and if you love the sound of big-voiced, lovelorn girls singing their hearts out, this CD is a must-have."
