"These wonderful recordings are 30 years old, and apart from the music, they almost sound like they were done yesterday. -By that I mean, Jones has always sounded good. Check out a jazzy "Jingle Bells" or a rocky "Little Alter Boy", and you'll see what I'm on about. If there's a minus; it's the CD's running time of only 31 minutes. Still, it's become a favorite x-mas album of mine."

"I wouldn't buy anything that Lazerlight has produced. If Jack Jones Christmas CD was on MCA label, that's worht $75.00. Sellers, get with it. BUYERS BEWARE!"

"This is a reissue of his RCA album released in 1969. I had the RCA Camden reissue from 1971. I had this album as a child and played it ALOT. So when I saw this on CD, I had the biggest grin on my face! It is a GREAT Christmas Album, especially "Christmas is...". The CD also has the tracks in the correct LP order.
If you're wanting to replace this album with the CD, do it!"
"Despite 5 stars for this cd, there are 2 songs, LITTLE ALTAR BOY and OH, HAPPY DAY that are pretty bad, at least to my liking (and as compared to the other 8 songs). To my understanding, these 2 songs have a southern baptist 'church' type sound and not a real 'crooner christmas' styled sound like the rest have. But the rest of the songs, all 8 of them, boy, are they great.
Probably the biggest hit on the album and my favorite version of the song, CHRISTMAS DAY, is just fabulous. JACK'S singing is flawless. Probably the most perfect 'crooner' voice of them all.
CHRISTMAS IS is also the greatest version of the song ever recorded, even better than PERCY FAITH'S version.
SILVER BELLS and HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS are also among my favorite versions of each of them. A nice and deep, lush orchestra sound backs JACK JONES up here with some wonderful strings.
JINGLE BELLS has perhaps the most laziest/jazziest/lounge style I know of the song, a very different take/arrangement of the song like none I've heard before. And it works in such a beautiful way.
O HOLY NIGHT is also superb and powerful on the religious side but especially O LITTLE TOWN OF BETHLEHEM stands out. In fact, I'm considering this version of O LITTLE TOWN OF BETHLEHEM to be (perhaps along with ROGER WILLIAMS instrumental orchestra version) my favorite version of the song ever recorded. Along with CHRISTMAS DAY, it would be the best song on the album. The chorus that backs JACK up on this song is very, very powerful and 'do' stand out in this song in a big way as does the backing orchestra. And JACK'S singing is so seemingly perfect to every note that it's just a gem of a song.
A mentioned above, this 1969 album has a backing orchestra and chorus and the sound is real great. It may be on a cheap label (Laserlight) but don't let that deter you if you like JACK JONES and great 'crooner' styled christmas music as performed by BING CROSBY, PERRY COMO, FRANK SINATRA, etc..... The 2 songs aside that I wrote about at the top of this review, this album is (in general) as great as all these crooners listed in the above sentence. A very high recommendation from me."
