CD Reviews

Howard Shore must have his own brilliant Muse!

"When I learned that Kevin Smith's movie, DOGMA had a soundtrack that was all musical score, I didn't believe it until I listened. Just like the movie, all musical cues are there and a couple I guess I missed upon watching (and listening). Howard Shore has this way of giving music its own soul, like its a character in the film that changes emotion. The choral adds to the grandeur of the subject matter (God, angels, demons). An added bonus, Alanis Morrisette's "Still", which is "ironic" if you've seen the movie and listen to the lyrics. Smith has actually produced a G-rated soundtrack for an R-rated movie! That has to be some feat. When you listen to the last few beautiful tracks, take a look again at the cover to see Jay & Silent Bob (oh, my God, it's the same movie!)Absolutely breathtaking music! Religious folk and movie music enthusists will all be satisfied."
