CD Reviews

Rip off - only 4 songs on a CD 12 whole minutes - whoopee

"The songs are OK but a CD with only 4 short songs on it is just plain wrong."

"ALTHOUGH HOLLY'S VOICE WOULD BE WELCOME IN MY HOME AT THE HOLIDAYS, THIS DISC IS NOT AT ALL WELCOME.. IF YOU WANT TO HEAR MORE, THOUGH NOT COMPLETE HOLLY HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE, GET THE IMPORT SANTA BABY.. MUCH MORE INTERESTING."

"Full of soul and holiday spirit is this 4 track EP by Holly Cole. The title song is one that was popularized by Dean Martin on his Christmas collection. This bluesy ballad version is warm and heartfelt. Her remake of The Pretender's 2000 Miles is totally remarkable. Her voice deepens on part of the song and is sung totally different than Chrissy Hynde's version. Please Come Home is also bluesy and done well. Finnally, there is her version of The Andrew Sister's I'd Like To Hitch A Ride With Santa Claus. It has frolicing jazzy feel along with it's humerous overtone. The only disapointing thing about this disc is that there are only 4 songs. I have her live Santa Baby disc, but it doesn't have the same feel that this CD started to produce. I could easily see her adding Santa Baby, Nuthin' For Christmas(Eartha Kitt's version) and others to make this a complete holiday collection."
