Typical Holly Cole - great Christmas album

"Holly has developed a style all her own - one which relies heavily on covers, but interpreted differently from the original. So it is with this Christmas album, although Holly has not changed anything really dramatically. Even so, Holly's versions of Baby it's cold outside, The Christmas song, Santa baby, I'll be home for Christmas, If we make it through December and Sleigh ride could never be mistaken for any other. The other songs are all new to me, though I know that most of them are also covers - for example, Zat you Santa Claus? is associated with Louis Armstrong. This is a wonderful, relaxing, Christmas album which may not suit everybody - you have to allow it to grow on you, but it's well worth the effort."

"I'm really amazed that no one else has reviewed this CD. Holly Cole is an incomparable vocalist, her band is sublime and this is an absolutely incredible Christmas CD. I've played it for dozens of people: their reaction is to rush out and buy their own copy. Get your own copy. You won't be disappointed."
