Product DescriptionWhen in September 1942 the twenty seven year old Sinatra decided to leave Tommy Dorsey's Orchestra with whom he had served a two year apprenticeship, he took with him one of Tommy's arrangers, Axel Stordahl. It was a partnership which would last ten years. Frank Sinatra's peak of popularity was 1946. On this CD we have included not only Frank's 1946 recordings, but also his 1944/5 and 1947 recordings so that you can hear the build up to his peak of popularity. We calculate that Frank had eleven entries on America's pop music charts in 1945. In 1946 he had sixteen entries, an increase of forty five percent. In 1947 he had thirteen entries, a decrease of nineteen percent, but still a large number!
