"I have already reviewed the performance of these Scottish Songs in Volume I. The new Collected Edition of Haydn's works (Joseph Haydn Werke [JHW]), published by G. Henle beginning in 1958 and still in progress, included the Haydn settings of Scottish, Welsh and Irish folk songs collected by William Napier, George Thomson, and William Whyte in five voulmes (Reihe XXXII). The second volume of the folksong arrangements recorded by Lorna Anderson, Jamie MacDougall and the Haydn Trio Eisendtadt contains four CDs and, with volume 1, completes the recording of the 3rd volume of JHW XXXII. They plan to record all 429 songs that appear in these five volumes by the year 2009.
