"And you thought Harry Secombe was only Neddy Seagoon between 1952 and 1960. Ah, but he ws so much more. Funny as he was with Peter Sellers and Spike Miligan, aka the Goons, on "The Goon Show," Harry had far more talent than those shows would let you believe. Once in a while, on the show, a character would murmur something liike "Your record's selling well." These are the records they meant. "If I Ruled the World," from Pickwick, is an absolute classic. "Vienna my City of Dreams," another, a song of a man, presumably a Nazi prisoner, lamenting his lost city. You would never think little Neddy had a profoundly religeous side, but "Lead Kindly Night," and especially the haunting "Abide with Me," give you lots to think about. and he could sing a love song, hitting notes that no other tenor can dream of approaching--on "Be M y Love," "Love is a Many-Splendored Thing," etc. what an album this is to own. What a sad jolt it was to see Harry and Spike die, practically within weeks of each other. r i p all 3 Goons."

"What a wonderful singing voice Harry Secombe had.Of course he was from Wales and the Welsh are the finest singers in the whole wide world. I am not from Wales but I adore their singing and this is a great CD to have.
so glad Harry did a lot for recordings"
