CD ReviewsA really great collection for Astaire fans! KV Trout | Los Angeles, CA USA | 04/19/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "I looked all over for a collection that has the songs the way they sound in the movies.
Before I got this one I bought one that looked like "the real thing" but when I played it I found that they were different - later - arrangements, not the originals. As far as these ears can hear, these are the original recordings as heard in the movies. As to sound quality, I don't suppose they are the highest fidelity in the world, but they sound good to me. I just care that they sound decent and they are the original recordings not later re-interpretations with different musicians and arrangements. There is one other collection that looks good and may have more of the original recordings - also available in mp3 format here - but I have not heard that one yet so I don't know. As to this one, I give it Five Stars - because it sounds like the movies, with tapping and all!" |
