"The VOICE is one way to discribe Merman's voice. From "An Earful Of Music" all through to "Doin' What Come Natur'lly" Merman's voice is clear and you can understand every word with that tremendus energy backing it up. The fun comes through when Merman sings with Bing Crosby with "You'r The Tops" A change of pace in numbers like "The Lady In Red" or that charleston flare in "Ridin' High" ending up like a ballad. There is a Vamp attitude in "Eadie Was A Lady". More fun when singing with Bert Lahr in "Friendship" and "Let's Be Buddies" singing with Joan Carroll. I would recomend this recording because of the variety in pace and mood. Several songs are the story type with that berlesque flavor. And the ballad type of "It's Delovely", "How Deep Is The Ocean","This Is It",Etc, etc, etc. Buy this recording if only just to have fun after a heavy day."
