"Doris Day was a terrific singer, and, in my opinion, she was at her very best when she was singing soft ballads. While the title sounds great, if a person doesn't know what is on the CD, one can't be expected to buy it."

"Doris Day could sing anything, but she was especially sensual when she sang ballads. Her clean phrasing and seductive enunciation makes it seem she is singing every song just for you! These are recordings done between 1947 and 1952. Liner notes do list orchestra accompaniments and recording dates, but nothing else. Not even a picture!!The 10 tracks include...
1. Imagination 1947 2. Kiss Me Goodbye, Love 1951 3. Festival of Roses 1949 4. Thoughtless 1947 5. We Kiss in a Shadow 1951 6. When Your Lover Has Gone 1948 7. My Love and Devotion 1952 8. Before I love You 1950 9. It's You Or No One 1948 10. I'll Be Around 1950If you're collecting Doris Day, it will offer some cuts that aren't readily available on other CD's. If you don't have much by the great Miss Day, try some of her studio albums (I highly recommend Day by Day/Day by Night) or Golden Girl: Columbia Recordings 1944-1966 or the fabulous Duet album she recorded with the Andre Previn Trio. Doris Day is perhaps one of the most underated singers of the 20th Century. Too many only know her from her movies. She was a remarkable actress but perhaps even a better singer."
