Bear Family boxes up one great movie...

"...and it wasn't even a musical! A stunning job from Germany's Bear Family compiling background music, songs and entertainment fluff from one of Doris Day's premiere comedies, 1959's "Pillow Talk". One of the biggest grossing movies of its year, "Pillow Talk" never really had a proper soundtrack release, which is a shame because Frank DeVol's scoring is jaunty fun. Doris herself released a few singles from the film, but, puzzlingly, they failed to chart(Rock Hudson also recorded the title track, which didn't crack the Hot 100 either!). It's all included here, as well as radio spots and a big glossy booklet full of photos and the Oscar-winning screenplay."
Great fun with Doris, Rock and Frank DeVol's orchestra

"If you enjoy hearing the "Pillow Talk" score while youre watching the movie, this box set will hold many delightful surprises. Some of the music that you barely hear under the dialogue is fabulous. My only complaint is the music under the "moment of truth" (when Doris discover's Rock's real identity) is missing. However, the second CD with radio snippets and Rock singing the songs make up for this omission. And the book included with the CDs has some rare photos and promo art."
