"I was so happy to see the release of the recordings Dionne Warwick did while at Warner Brothers.
Without Bacharach and David, Warwick discovered a wonderful contemporary arena of music to lend her pipes to.
70's soul was made for her. Unfortunately, she did not get the support or promotion from the label.
I think everyone underestimates the quality of the work done at WB.
I think its the funkiest, and most soulful music she ever recorded.
NOW, if we can only convince Arista to release ALL her work at that label."

"I just adore Dionne Warwick and was thrilled to find this, and several other of her albums re-released on import. Risking my bank manager having an apoplectic attack, I ordered them all and this one was the first to arrive. I was not disappointed and I can't imagine any Dionne fan being so when they buy this. It's very indicative of the time, but hasn't become twee with age. One of my very favourite songs is "Since you stayed here" and her version is just the best. Very simple, plaintive and with lyrics to die for. Perfection is CD shaped! If only "Track of the Cat" & No night so long" were re-released on CD, I would be a very happy fan."

"Our learned reviewer Thomas Lay hits the beauty and importance of this album right on target. Dionne is lengendary for ballads but this album is somewhat quaint and different. It delivers you to a different state of listening pleasure that will invoke semblances of country pop, MOR and emotive sentimentals. This album challenges the listener to categorise its genre and will actually remain quite happy just being appreciated for its expansive celebrative musical arrangements and tune instead. Dionne introduced this album to the Brazilian audience way back in the early 70's and made quite an impact on Fantasia (not the Disney movie), their national variety show then. Not that they did not already know her but this album brought her closer to rank and qualifies her as one of the very few unique singers in English that was so dearly embraced by the population there. Any wonder why Dionne made the "Aquarela Do Brasil" album and currently resides in???-->make a wild guess. The musical style is unbelievably timeless and very very "happy" and you won't even suspect it was recorded during the 70s. Well, looks like it's not just Madonna who can kick retro. If you love Dionne like most diehard fans do, you will also be most delighted and amazed with the album cover pictorial of how our casual pony tailed girl turned Miranda in stark ocean blue floral on the back. Wow....si si (x7)...she looks verrr...y nice! Go for a real treasured find and buy the album..strictly no regrets...you can always say that with all Dionne's album..especially the hidden ones."
Love At First Sight

"There is no doubt that Dionne Warwick has a magnificent voice. From the 1960s to today, her smooth R&B vocals have remained a factor on the airwaves of both AM and FM radio. From Warner Brothers Records, the 1977 release of Love At First Sight is no less a wonderful portrayal of the power of those vocals. Though it did not yield any significant hits, Love At First Sight does offer a "lost gem" in the East Coast Beach Music scene in track #10 "Do You Believe In Love At First Sight." Hard to find in most venues, this one song is worth the price alone."
