CD ReviewsA real treasure... 06/10/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "V-disc recordings were, up until most recently, not available to civilians for 50 years. Finally released to the general public, these recordings are indeed a treasure trove! Dinah Shore's V-disc sessions are especially coveted. this collections contains many of her WWII era hits, re-recorded at the time for soldiers overseas. Here they are lovingly presented without the help of technical wizardry. We just have digital mastering of the original recordings, as heard in the 1940s. Of exceptional note are "The Thrill Is Gone" and "Guess I'll Hang My Tears Out to Dry" as well as her hits "Candy" and "Murder, He Says". A wonderful and rare collection of recordings. A star addition to your collection!"
