It's the season to enjoy the spirit of the holiday through Christmas in the Sierra CD. David John has a wonderful way with his voice of telling a store throw music. People from all over the world come to hear and enjoy David John and the Comstock Cowboys perform, and so will you when you get this CD. Christmas, more than any time of year, seems to be a time when we reflect. Old friends and family members seem to be in our thoughts. Images of our youth, which for so long seem to be lost to the year, somehow make their way back to us during the holiday season. Maybe it's going through all those old Christmas decorations we brought down from the attic, or the scent for a fresh cut spruce tree, or just maybe it's the music. More than likely it's a combination of everything. Most of all we believe it's the music which brings Christmas in every year. It's those old melodies we hear in the store, on the streets and on the radio that put the spirit of Christmas in our minds and hearts every year. It's these songs that seem to trigger memories and images of our favorite Christmas Moments. Doing this collection of Christmas music has been a lifetime dream of mine. The combination of Christmas and western music has always been my favorite. Living in and around the great Sierra Nevada has been an even greater inspiration for this recording. it includes a collection of some of my best compositions and some of my favorite Christmas standards. Through my songs I hope to take you down the trail to some of the small western towns which dot this beautiful landscape and help you see them covered with a blanket of snow. This recording is not just for those who live here or come to visit but for people all over the world who have yet to see this beautiful winter wonderland.
