Product DescriptionAt school in Lubbock, David Box told a friend he wanted to be "just like Buddy Holly". He almost got his wish - he had distinctive talent and made some fine recordings during a short recording career, cut short when he died in a chartered small aircraft. Unfortunately the five 45's released during his lifetime failed to reach the charts, and for most people he will remain unknown. However he was admired by many for his vocal talent and guitar virtuosity. This, David's first album, includes those recordings that were issued during his career and some previously unreleased recordings from studio sessions (including some under Roy Orbison's direction and many produced by Ray Rush and Ben Hall) together with home recordings and demos. Listening to this CD you will wonder both how it was his records were not hits and just what he would have achieved had he lived. Includes extensive notes by John Davison-White and many photographs.
