This album and his 4 others are the reason Daryl Hall is an ICON in the world of music. He and John Oates (Daryl Hall & John Oates) are the most popular duo of all time and their song "You Make my Dreams" just became the first to have over 1 billion downloads. They are almost as popular now as they were in the 70's, 80's, 90's and 2000's. But a lot of people don't know Daryl has recorded 5 solo albums and this one is totally amazing. Cab driver received some airplay when it first came out but there is not a bad song on the entire album. I cherish it and am so grateful to the sender for the gift.

"Daryl Hall's latest solo album, "I Can't Stop Dreaming" has been released on the heels of the first new Hall and Oates CD in several years! This is truly an embarassment of riches. The Hall & Oates CD is perfectly wonderful, but for my money, the nod goes to this solo work. "Cab Driver" opens the set and establishes a soulful groove from which the mood doesn't stray. Hall's voice remains a marvel and there are several radio-worthy cuts here that should propel this classic artist back to the top of the charts. At a time when pop music seems perfunctory at best, the solid efforts of Daryl Hall stand head and shoulders above the mainstream tedium and show that soul music still lives!"
Best solo album of the year! Finally in the U.S.

"After several years of being only availble as an import Cd, Cant stop dreaming is finally in the US market. But the wait has been worth it. This is the best solo album by Daryl Hall by far, the most cohesive album, his previous works (Three hearts, Soul Alone and Sacred Songs) have hightlights but this is the most complete work.
This is what American listeners have missed, the best singer-songwriter in history of pop music makes its best with songs like "Let me be the one", "What's in your world", and the single "Cab driver" (which is doing well in the jazz stations).
The album has everything from very romantic tunes "Hold on to Me" "Holding Out for love", to dancing tunes "Never let me go" (this guy knows how to make a dance tune, really!) the uptempo "Fools rush in" (my personal favourite in the album)and even social concern in "All by Myself" very much in the Marvyn's Gaye style.
So if you are bored with the current Adult contemporary artists (no offense, but there is lack of creativity) this is a river of refreshing sounds for your ears. Go and get it, you wont be disapointed!
If you like more about Daryl Hall, its new album with Oates "Do It For love" is called, is a perfect match with this (by the way John Oates also has its own solo album, its first Phunk Shui, very good too)."

"I have always like Daryl Hall when he did his thing with John Oates. But this cd took it to another level for me. I think I was having one of the worst work days of my life and they played "Cabdriver" on the jazz station. Ever since that moment ,I had been on a constant hunt to find this cd. "Cabdriver" has to the be the HARDEST jazz song ever recorded. Me and my dad constantly fight over this cd. I think it's an excellent cd to add to any music collection. Rap, R&B, Jazz, Rock, whatever. "Can't Stop Dreaming" is in there with the best of them. I love his music! It flawlessly transcends age, race and whatever barriers that are out there.
Thanks, Daryl
Much Love"

"I luv this man when he performs his solo hits. He is such a genius. I appreciate the work that u did man. Good job.
Some of my fav. songs are Cabdriver and the acoustic remake of "She's Gone".
Y'know you must come back w/ more like this on your next solo album 'cuz you can surely rock. This CD is definitely a classic w/ so much varied styles of jazz, R&B, rock, pop and rock.
Recommend it if they love Steely Dan, Simply Red, Michael McDonald, The Doobie Brothers, Slim Man, Bobby Caldwell, Miles Davis, Boyz II Men, Alicia Keys, Brian McKnight, Lisa Stansfield, Barry White, OutKast, Kanye West, Twista, Marvin Gaye, Quincy Jones, Grover Washington, etc.
Much from your #1 big fan, Henry

"this is a good month for me , first a new Hall and Oates
cd which is one of there best if not the best of there's
and now a solo cd from Daryl , I have all of his solo
cd's and this is the best one by far. If the 80's were
theres than they are back on track to haveing it happen
all over again. 'cab driver' is soul- ful and a sharp
piece of music 'let me be the one' is on the same level
and this is a winner all the way and Im very happy to have
some new music to listen to ."
