"This CD is a reissue of the Christmas album by the same title released on the Intersound label in 1996. The only difference is the sequence of the eleven songs. I have both CD's and have found the sound quality to be the same on both. The original CD is now selling as a collectible for much much more than you will have to pay for this release. Unless you are a true purest and must absolutely add the original to you collection you will do just fine by purchasing this Laserlight reissue. The songs are classic Christmas and, if you're already a fan of Crystal Gayle then you know that her vocals are going to be wonderful and they are. So, don't be afraid to purchase this CD as it would be a great addition to anyone's Christmas album collection."
It's much more than a pretty cover

"You will hear it in the very first bars of "Winter Wonderland" with a lonely oboe over muted strings: There are so many beautiful arrangements on this album that you almost tend to forget how wonderfully Crystal Gayle sings.
In "O Holy Night" the arranger has mixed a shuffle-like feeling with a truly classical instrumentation and beautifully idiomatic solos. In "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" you'll get a sparkling piano solo, an agile soprano sax and a rock'n rolling tenor sax. In fact, all songs have such wonderful details. Even the often tiresome song "Silent Night" offers new musical ideas with a subtle crispy solo for an alto recorder and some beautiful string arrangements.
But of course all this would be rather useless if the singer was bad. Luckily, the singer is wonderful. Crystal Gayles warm voice holds a true Christmas spirit in it and noone can sing about being home for Christmas with such promising sweetness. A great cd for the holidays !"

"I love the CD from Crystal Gayle. She is so talented and the quality and sound on the CD are superb.
I can clearly hear every word and musical instrument in the background.
Some artists don't take into consideration the instruments drowning them out - but thankfully Crystal Gayle does.
I love her."
