Synopsis

Album Description
2008 installment in Universal Music's excellent Rock 'N' Roll Legends series. This collection has been compiled to reflect not just the big hits of this performer, but also to include key album tracks and rarities from the Universal vaults as well to give the listener the perfect overview of an artist's career. Each collection is packaged in a bold and eye-catching design, presented in a digipak with a six-page fold-out booklet with detailed overview and, where applicable, historical quotations that assess the impact of the performers as Rock ?N? Roll blazed its trail throughout the '50s and early '60s. This 20-track compilation from the orignal Queen Of Pop, the most successful international female vocalist of the '50s and '60s, features her hits and her most well known tracks including 'Stupid Cupid', 'Who's Sorry Now', 'Lipstick On Your Collar' and 'My Heart Has A Mind Of Its Own'.

CD Reviews

NICE HITS ENTRY
Terry D. Robertson | Asheville, NC USA | 03/04/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This "digipak" from Universal's "Rock Legends" series presents nothing new that cannot be found on other "hits' CDs. It is the first release by Connie's original recording label (formerly MGM) since GOLD, three years ago. The song selection is more varied than most of her hits packages and some of the titles are the Lp cuts and not the 45 tracks which is a nice change of pace.

Let's hope Universal will open up the vaults and release some of those finished cuts that have never seen the light of day on any format because there is "gold in them thar hills!". I have reviewed many Connie CDs and am a little tired of all the hit packages that form her catalog. This is an exception to the rule.

Very satisfying with excellent packaging and information.

Let's see some more ambitious products Universal! Go out on the limb, it won't break."
