"For those of you, who love swing era vocal group for their sound and nothing else - you are for a treat. Just close your eyes and listen. I would rate ( a first 13 songs in particular) the quality of recording, selection, musical arrangement and most important, the sound of it, as a first class. Personaly I feel, that I got a good value for my money and as a bonus listening pleasure, which I did not experienced for long time - to be precise, since last recording of The Manhattan Transfers, but don't take my word for it, listen to the samples and you will get the " picture " ."

"Since when does one ANONYMOUS --and isn't that the KEY adjective?--
"music lover" (with his/her own prescriptive bias ready) have the temerity to try to drop a dime on such a fine quartet of (sorry: white)
sisters who were in the forefront of pristine 4-part swing harmony?
Yes... freedom of speech & opinion IS guaranteed by the Constitution,
but such an abrupt put-down of 40s music hardly does justice to the
immense labors of arrangers, transcriptionists, musicians, and singers
who produced a genre that is STILL vital, because --simply-- it WAS
magnificent! I'll bet that the last reviewer also phoned in a vote
against Ms. Hudson when she "lost" on American Idol. Or maybe not.
Anyone who "judges" the music of the 40s as "terrible" is unlikely to
possess the mental equipment to know more than zilch about the intricate
wonders of The Great American Songbook. Uttering "terrible 40s music"
