"i am not sure as to how popular this cd has been in the states, but it being a french record, i don't doubt that many haven't heard much about it. however, i have to say this is her best work ever. celine personally thinks so herself, and i have to say i agree with her completely on this one... "pour que tu m'aimes encore" is her classic song, one which everyone, from 4 year old kids to 65 year old women were singing along to, knowing every single word of it when it hit big in europe... she also sings a song to her dear Karine who if i believe passed away in her arms of cystic fibrosis when she was just 12 years old [i apologize for any inaccuracy if it is the case]... that track is called "vole", meaning "fly" and which i believe can be found on her "falling into you" cd, the song being then translated into english, as well as for "if that's what it takes", a translation of "pour que tu m'aimes encore"... althought it might be original to translate songs into english, i can guarantee you that the english versions are no equivalents for the french versions; some things can only be said and realized in its full potential in a certain language, and some things just cannot be translated, period.
no matter, music is universal, so if you enjoy celine and regardless of whether you know french or not, this is a cd to be enjoyed :)"

"Celine Dion is a phenomenon singing in her native tongue. This album has songs that are beautifully written and beautifully executed. Jean-Jacques is a musical genius. These songs simply cannot be translated and still retain the clever play on words and the depth of emotions evoked that they do in French. Celine is able to vary the feel of each song from the gradual crescendo of feeling in Ballet to the faster rythmic beat of Destin. I have listened to this album continually for almost two years and I know I will never tire of it.
