"This is a compilation by Mexico's Orfeon label from "La Guarachera de Cuba", Celia Cruz' mexican tours of the late 1960's and early 70's. During those tours, Celia, then under contract by NYC based Tico label, was recorded by Orfeon, which Tico had an agreement with. The musical ensembles used, were mostly "recording studio conjunto & jazz band ensembles",directed by mexican/cuban music interpreter, composer and pianist, Memo Salamanca and cuban composer and pianist Juan Bruno Tarraza. Old Celia classics such as "Burundanga", "El Yerbero Moderno" and "Tu Voz are featured here as well as "never recorded before by Celia hits like "Guantanamera", "La Bikina", "Secuestrame" and two surprise tracks, "Lagrimas Negras" and "Angelitos Negros", featuring Celia with a "charanga style ensemble" an absolute first for Celia Cruz! If you're looking for a "Celia Cruz Collector's Item CD", then you don't want to miss this one!"
