CD Reviews

Acoustic music by excellent singer-songwriter
Peter Durward Harris | Leicester England | 07/26/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"With a voice reminiscent of Emmylou Harris, Caroline sings the ten songs here backed by excellent musicians that include Barbara Lamb on fiddle. The music includes various elements but is essentially a blend of folk, traditional country and bluegrass. Some suggest that pop, rockabilly and jazz influences are also to be found here but these are not obvious. The bluegrass influence is evident by the inclusion of banjo on the opening track, and by mandolin and dobro on some other tracks.Caroline or her producer Frank Carillo wrote all but two of the songs, these being the traditional Wade in the water and the Beatles classic Norwegian wood. I originally discovered this album when searching for Beatles covers, but I knew very quickly that this was my kind of music and I just had to have it. If you like acoustic singer-songwriter music, Caroline's music is well worth a listen."
