"Carol Kidd M.B.E.(Member of the British Empire since 1998) is a Scottish music treasure and Frank Sinatra called her "Britain's best kept music secret." I agree with the Chairman of the Board. It was him and his praise of her that allowed her to quit the hotel business and pursue music full time. She is the equal of Ireland's Daniel O'Donnell (another Honorary M.B.E.) She is both likable and her music is likely not going to offend anybody. She sings the music as fresh as it ever was like you're hearing it for the first time. For most people of my generation, you probably are listening to classical jazz music by Carol Kidd. You will be astonished by her amazing way of being very natural and her voice is soothing too. If I was getting married, I would try to get Carol Kidd to sing at my wedding reception with the Robert Farnon Orchestra. Sadly, Farnon died recently. Under his direction, Carol Kidd shines and she is awkwardly clapping on the compact disc for the orchestra who supports her voice. If you like classic jazz and a fine female voice, you would love Carol Kidd who has allowed us to revisit jazz standards again. Why she is not famous is bewildering to me because she earns a place in your heart by her singing."
