"Carmen, live, with a lifetime of knowledge, on a very good night, with a very soulful band (an organ combo), singing a set of well-chosen standards that she knew like the face in the mirror. This is heartbreaking, funny, deeply felt, deeply thought music. It's the best of her late-period recordings (edging out Any Old Time), and ranks right up there with classics like Lover Man. Why on earth isn't it available?"
