Album DescriptionVolume 19 of the Loewe Edition features a collection of twenty-four perfectly attuned pieces composed by Loewe during a period extending from 1825 to 1859. In addition to Napoleon Ballads depicting events that are in no way historically attested, ballads of very different national stamp again find their place on the listening program: travelogues from Arabia (Maisuna at the Well, The Oasis, Song of a Little Bird in the Oasis) and native pictures from Persia (Ali and Fatme). The young Loewe set six delightful little songs with the Serbian Song Cycle and even in serious songs of religious content Ingeborg Danz shines as a storyteller and dramatic interpreter.
