Almost All Their Best...

"I basically agree with all the other reviews on this album. It's nice to have this collection available because it includes some songs that would otherwise be unavailable, seeing as how all but the first album from The Captain & Tenille are out of print and most likely will never be issued on CD. The only disappointing aspect of this album is that it doesn't include "Muskrat Love", one of their biggest hits and a definite fan favorite. I don't understand why that song was excluded over songs that weren't even hits. For a complete collection of their hits, get "The Ultimate Collection". But if you want some rare Captain & Tenille, this CD, as well as "Digitally Remastered Best", are sure to please. (At least until their original albums are released on CD!)."
THE FIRST HALF OF AS GOOD AS IT GETS

""Scrapbook" is the first half of the best C&T collection possible on CD given that none of their original albums (except "Love Will Keep Us Together") exists on CD. All 6 of their A&M and Casablanca albums are represented here; however there are some GAPING holes in this collection, such as the omission of their achingly delicious renditions of "Come In From The Rain", "Dream" and "Easy Evil". (OK--"Muskrat Love" is missing, too. At least you can ENJOY that omission--although I even miss their little pitter-pattering feet at the end!) Nevertheless, this is hands-down the best and most comprehensive collection of their work on Casablanca (more than half of their "Make Your Move" album is represented here along with the title song from "Keeping Our Love Warm" and that album's "Until You Come Back To Me" [which I could have done without]) along with some major A&M stuff as well. Combine this with their "Best of Captain & Tennille" CD (at Collector's Choice Music), which features loads of their A&M cuts, including their aforementioned omissions, and you've got just about the best of C&T you can get right now on CD. Let's hope the industry wakes up and issues all 6 albums (or at least the two best--"Song of Joy" and "Make Your Move") soon."
No scraps here!

"This collection spans their seventies and thankfully their 80's hits. Great to see the casablanca years chronicled on cd. Say what you may but these songs are either classic pop or lost treasures."
