Cantaloube with a difference!

"I first heard from Canteloube's collection of songs of the Auvergne region of France in 1945 as background music to a short film, and bought Madeleine Grey's recording, the source of the music, when I found it. I have never lost my enjoyment of this compelling and unique music, and have treasured both de los Angeles's and Von Stade's recordings as tops, but Arlene Auger's version is of a different nature, and has an excitement and freshness which is unique. Unfortunately, this lovely American singer had most of her career in Europe and has few recordings available, all of them rewarding, but a "must have"."
