"I was raised in a family of musicians and weaned on Presley,Tom Jones,Nat King Cole, and Tony Bennett, but can still recall Mom bringing home the 33,1/3 version of "My Buddy". Took an instant liking to Lady is a Tramp and proceeded to work on it with my band the next day!!! So it was a foregone conclusion that when I spotted it on the amazon.com list, it found its way to my cart.Greco is a brilliant vocalist, polished, with a great diction that oozes out of every number. This is one of those CD's that you can purchase based on a review and, even if you are more into Rock,Blues or Jazz, will gain tons of pleasure listening to an artist of note."
His least repulsive...

"On this CD, you get two of Buddy's least repulsive LP's from 1960, My Buddy and On Stage. Highlights include a warm version of Misty and a hip version of Like Young. Greco is often associated with cheezy Las Vegas lounge singers(which is what he is), however on these tasteful sessions(yet still incredibly loungy and crazy) you hear a great jazz tinged vocalist. Buy this CD if you want the good Buddy Greco, to seek out additional Greco CD's wil not nessicarily bring you any good singing."

"This is great stuff. From 'The Best Man', 'Get me to the church', to 'Like young'. Bonus track Buddy's minor hit 'Mr. Lonely'. I also love his piano pieces, 'I can't get started' and 'Misty'.Nice backing from Sam Scafidi-Bobby Marinello and Dick Palombi.Viva Las Vegas!"
Buddy At His Best

"It's a gas to have these 2 great albums together on one CD. Some of Buddy Greco's best recorded work came from live sessions such as these. The first album, "My Buddy" showcases his jazz inflected lounge style on tracks like "Just In Time", "The Lady is A Tramp" and the great, late 50s hip, "Like Young". His vocal stylings are as hip and witty as his piano playing. If you're a sucker for lounge music from the period, then this CD collection is a must-have for you. And besides when's the last time you heard "she reads Winchell and understands every line"?"
Greco kitsch is good stuff

"These recordings from the late '50s and early '60s find Buddy Greco on stage loading on the schmaltz and smarmy sounds of a lounge singer, but overall it comes across as good stuff. There is a constant murmur of crowd noise under all these tracks that one wonders whether anyone was actually listening to Greco when he was singing. Enjoyable outings are "Baubles, Bangles and Beads," "Like Young," "The Rules of the Road," "Just in Time." A couple selections are Greco at the piano sans vocals. Don't look for too many lush love ballads on this collections, it's mostly upbeat renditions of some standards."
