CD Reviews

Nicely done remaster!
Joseph L. Kolb | harris, mn USA | 03/11/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"the remastering job on this cd is fantastic! it just sounds great! there is an informative booklet included. my only complaint is the live extra track sounds really muddy. i remember seeing auger in the early 80s and had this oriental (Ho Young Kim ?) guitarist that really cooked. they did a really solid performance of Dragon Song that i still think about today. i was hopin' this would be just as spirited. still, this remastered version is highly recommended."
Great CD...
P. M. Adams | Tallahassee, FL | 04/05/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This CD moves! I hadn't listened to Brian Auger in several years when I saw this title at my favorite local record store. I picked it up and am pleased to say that I've no regrets regarding the purchase. As the earlier poster said, the bonus track is somewhat muddy but the rest of the album is very well remastered...a nice change of pace during a time when so many "remasters" are naught more than digital butcheries of the original material.

The energy this band generates is extraordinary. The John McLaughlin authored track, 'Dragon Song', is a hot tune, while 'The Sword' just plain SMOKES!! Great music. It's a tremendous album and well worth the investment if spirited, well crafted fusion is what you're looking for."
