I hate to take anything away from an artist because age and not any other factor has reduced the performance. Brenda Lee sings these songs with heart and reverence to the subject if not the writer. Her old mentor would have erged her to make the song her own. To be sure these are still fine performances and better than most. Mahalia Jackson made every Hymn hers and became timeless with her performances of power and style. Please Little Miss Dynamite choose Gospel songs the way you chose ballads and add a couple of new hymns and sing them to express the glory of God and the enjoyment of his choir.
