"I got into Bobby Sherman while in high school. I didn't tell a soul, as high schoolers are probably not keen on bubble gum music. To me, bubble gum is like baroque pop in a way. The arrangements are pretty complicated, and it's some of the greatest fluff ever. Bobby Sherman was one of the best practioneers of this underrated genre. On this CD, we have his first album and Portrait of Bobby, 2 of his best works. There's tons of great material here, from Bobby's first hit, Little Woman, to a Dylan cover, One Too Many Mornings. There's a beautiful song called Rainy Day Thought, 2 great songs written by Bobby himself, Love and Time, a Gordon Lightfoot cover (Wherefore and Why), and some really cute songs, like Bubble Gum and Braces. The vinyl copies I had bought were used and scratchy, so it's wonderful that these albums are available on CD. It's also nice that I can tell everyone I dig bubble gum music."
