Masterful Recordings by a Jazz Legend

"My sister purchased a copy of this Billy Eckstine album as a gift for me from Amazon.com a few years ago. I've enjoyed it immensely, although, in recent months I've had difficulty with it when I've played it.
My favorite numbers from this CD are "You're My Everything", "Sophisticated Lady", and " In the Still of the Night". I remember how the last of those three songs was given a lot of air time by the media at the time of Mr. Eckstine's death in 1993.
While I eventually plan to add an album featuring such Eckstine classics as " I Apologize"," Everything I Have Is Yours", and "My Foolish Heart" to my collection of Eckstine recordings, having this album was a pretty good start. I'd like to think that it would have given Mr.B, as he was known, great satisfaction to know how much this Generation Xer appreciates his rich, soulful voice."
