"I have several Beverly Kenney discs but this is my absolute favorite. Her smoky refrains are complimented by the always impeccable guitar stylings of Johnny Smith. Beverly was "A Rare Gem" whose efforts have remained buried for years in a sea of pop music that reeks of mediocrity. Her voice has the ring of truth in it. Unfortunately, her voloptuous contribution to the world of jazz at the mid-century mark remains buried, for the most part, in those archives. A virtual unknown in today's world of wannabes whose rantings, though construed as talent, in actuality are little more then fractured fallacies that sell chicklets rather then art. For the serious digger this CD is a goldmine. Turn the lights down low, snuggle up with your favorite lady or gentleman and return to those thrilling days of yesteryear when music was an adventure that spoke to the heart instead of the banality being shoved down our throats today."

"HEY ITS BEVERLY KENNEY. HER FIRST ON ROOST...and maybe her BEST. every tune is a gem. from SURRY to BALL & CHAIN to a perfect 50s diddy DESTINATION MOON. Kenney's THIS LITTLE TOWN IS PARIS always reminds me of Chris Connor's All About Ronnie...if you dont know this singer YOU SHOULD. you will end up owning every thing she ever recorded. she's the BEST of the BEST."

"Beautiful fresh sounding voice. The supporting instruments are a little much as is typical of light jazz in the era but Kenney is definitely worth listening too."

"i love beverly kenney and this particular cd was new to me and i fell in love with it, especially a song i had never heard before: "'tis autumn" her voice sounds just great and the songs are perfect. i believe this is the best one of her cd's that i own. i own about five right now and am going to try and get all of them. her enunciation, her voice, her phrasing, it is all such a joy to hear. this country has just got to begin producing her albums again and familiarize people with her talent. she deserves it. we deserve it. thanks japan for keeping her 'alive.'"
