You'd be better off with the two-disc set

"The two-disc set BARBRA: THE CONCERT is one of my favorite albums. This is the "HIGHLIGHT" version and has been edited down to fit on a single disc. The music, of course is great, but I personly suggest that to really get your money's worth, you buy the whole thing.True, they give you most of the hits ("Evergreen," "The Way We Were," "You Don't Bring Me Flowers") and we get tho here the "Yentl Melody" in it's full length (which in my opinion was the highlight among highlights) but they cut out almost all of the talk (which helped set mood and was at times every bit as entertaining as the music) and have the nerve to leave off "On A Clear Day (You Can See Forever" and "For All We Know." If you are on a limited budget, or are just started to listen to Streisand, then this may do. But I advise everyone else to buy the two-disc set which rates five stars!"
A good buy for casual fans.

"Recordings of THE CONCERT were such a big success on both record and television that Columbia decided to release a single-disc "highlights" that would provide an alternative for those who loved the show, but didn't want to invest in the more pricey two-disc set. While the HIGHLIGHTS disc only peaked at #81 on the Hot 200, it did eventually reach Gold status in sales, which proves that Columbia's instincts in the matter were correct. In making the transition from two disc to one, the nearly two hour show had to be condensed down to just under 80 minutes. The editors made the right decision by removing most of the stage dialogue in order to include more songs. In the end, only four actual songs had to be eliminated to meet the single disc time limit. Amazing, this condensed version holds up quite nicely - you don't really get the full impact of the show with all of the surrounding dialogue missing, but you do get one heck of a concert, with a superb performance from Streisand. Fans will definitely want to pick up the two disc set, because the show as a whole is one of Streisand's finest achievements. However, HIGHLIGHTS is a great buy for those who are just interested in hearing the music of evening."
It's a Streisand album, isn't she always wonderful?

"I am a twelve year old Barbra fan, and this is one of her best albums. Not only does she sing, but she also takes some time to talk with the audience. Barbra is simply wonderful, and she always has been. I would reccomed that anyone buy it. If a twelve year old could like her music, then who can't? If you are a first time listner, this is one great CD. It proves that Barbra is "still going strong""
Simply Delightful!

"To me Barbra is the most inspirational singer among other things. I am now twelve years old, and I love every peice of her work. This CD, includes over 77 minutes of music. Including Evergreen, The Way We Were, and Barbra conversing with the audience. "As if we never said goodbye", is wonderful, "I'm still here/Everybody says don't/Don't Rain on my parade", is new and original, "I'll know(with Marlon Brando), is hilarious with the famous line Hello Gorgeous, "People", couldn't have been sung better, "The Way We Were", "You don't bring me flowers", and the Yentl Medly, are performed beautifully. At the age of 53 at the time of the concert, Barbra is proving that she is "still going strong""
"In May of 1995, Barbra Streisand released her thirty-fifth album entitled, BARBRA: THE CONCERT HIGHLIGHTS. This concert album, which is adapted from her BARBRA: THE CONCERT ALBUM, features the best performances from that album. A rare treasure in the music field, and a very well thought-out treat for the fans.

BARBRA: THE CONCERT HIGHLIGHTS is not that much different from BARBRA: THE CONCERT, since this album has a few of the songs taken out of it, leaving the highlights of the show, but the album is very good, indeed. So, buy away."
