"Every now and then a singer comes along that can take a classic and make it their own - Billy Holiday, Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald - and now Barbara Morrison.Actually, Barbara's been around a long time, unfortunately until now we haven't had the opportunity to hear her "Confessin the Blues" as she does on the first track of this CD. The title is appropriate because she doesn't just sing the song but indeed confesses her feelings and her tremendous voice through the song. From that point on you are given the opportunity to hear one the finest singers of this generation. If you are not convinced after listening to the opening track, you will be after listening to "I'm Gettin 'Long All Right" - a blues piece representing Barbara at her best - straight out of Romulus, MI. She starts this song off by saying everthing you've heard about her is true, by the time she's finished you know why. Finally, if that's not enough, her version of "This Bitter Earth" will make you forget all others. All know is after just one listen, I too, was "gettin a 'long all right". 5 stars."
