"In 1969 Andy Williams was in the midst of a transistion. He turned 40 that year and he was back on NBC with a new show. No longer content to be the tuxedo or sweater clad champion of easy listening, in 1969 a new Andy Williams emerged. THis was a newer, cooler, and hipper ANDY. Take a listen at these two classic albums, and get to know a newer view of Andy Williams--a really cool view indeed."

"I've recently bought this CD off of Amazon.com a while back. The music on this Andy Williams CD is excellent. I've admire Andy's sweet voice for about 3 years. What is so amazing is that Andy re-records these hits like Bridge Over Troubled Water and turns them into his own arrangement. One of my favorite songs on this CD is "Long Time Blues". If you also admire the voice of Andy Williams, then this is the CD for you."
A fine "twofer" CD by the great Andy Williams

"This excellent "twofer" CD has all the songs from two of Andy William's record albums entitled Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head and Get Together with Andy Williams. These recordings show Andy at his very best while he was transitioning into a new, hipper Andy Williams. The quality of the sound is excellent and the artwork incorporates the original record album artwork.
There's not a dud in the bunch; Andy performs these songs with panache and I love it. Of course, I do have my favorites as you will, too. "Long Time Blues" starts the CD off with Andy singing flawlessly; and that's grand. The lush musical arrangement fits in perfectly with his singing, too. "Sweet Memories" gets the royal treatment from Andy; and I really like "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head;" this sounds especially smooth when Andy delivers it without a superfluous note! "Bridge over Troubled Water" is a fine cover of this Simon & Garfunkel song; Andy does an amazing job with this as well.
The "Today Medley" is very well done and listen for "Reason to Believe" which is easy on the ear even if the lyrics aren't all that happy. "Simple Thing as Love" is poignant; and I also enjoy hearing Andy perform "Both Sides Now;" the splendid "My Cherie Amour" by the great Stevie Wonder with some very good flute and percussion; and "Yesterday When I Was Young" is beautiful in Andy Williams' capable hands.
The love theme from "Romeo and Juliet" is done with great sensitivity; and "Good Morning Starshine" shows Andy really making the transition from the early 60s to what was then more current music, this time from the musical "Hair." "Sweet Caroline" is one of my very favorites on this CD; Andy does this beautifully and "Get Together" is yet another terrific cover of a song more hip and happening than Andy had previously performed. Similarly, "More Today than Yesterday;" "Put A Little Love in Your Heart" and still more music from "Hair," "Aquarius / Let the Sun Shine In" end the CD in a way that leaves me wanting more! The key modulations, especially on "Aquarius / Let the Sun Shine In," embellish this ballad and make it all the more memorable.
Andy Williams remains a versatile performer--catch him in concert if you can! I highly recommend this CD for his fans; and people who like easy listening music from the late 1960s and early 1970s will not be disappointed."
Andy Williams at his best

"These two albums are a collection of lesser known Andy Williams songs that are masterfully mixed and interwoven. The entire series of songs related to If Wishes Were Horses and the sense of living in the moment, using a New Christy Minstrals hit song, brings back wonderful memories and provides a provocative listening experience, as well as being a window into the personal challenges and emotions of the artist at that time."
