"I have searched in vain for years for the "Love Andy" album on CD. You can now see daylight through the grooves of my 32 year-old record album. I was elated to find both "Love Andy" and "Born Free" on one CD. These are original recordings with all of the rich vocal and instrumental treatments. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys Mr. Williams smooth, flowing style or the songs from the 60's era. The music ranges from pop favorites like "Music To Watch Girls By" to the haunting folk ballad, "Kisses Sweeter Than Wine." "Holly" and "The Look of Love" evoke the quiet romanticism of those times."
Two Great Hit Albums By a Great Hit Singer

""Born Free", originally released in 1967, had a great range of songs. First we have "Born Free", one of Williams' finest tracks; this is a song that is one of Andy's signatures finely arranged by Nick DeCaro. Andy covers great hits of the day including Sinatra's then new hit "Strangers in the Night", Bacharch/ David's "Alfie", Bobby Hebb's "Sunny", "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye", "Somewhere My Love", and Andy's own top forty hit "Music to Watch Girls By". One of my favorite songs is "I Will Wait For You", a great track that is one of my Williams favorites. Now we have another top ten smash in "Love, Andy". More hits of the day include "Somethin' Stupid" (Another Sinatra hit), Bacharach/ David's masterpiece "The Look of Love", "Can't Take My Eyes Off You", "The More I See You", and Jimmie Rodgers' old song "Kisses Sweeter Than Wine". My favorite track on this one is probably "What Now My Love" which Andy does a great job on.Both of these albums were top ten Gold sellers. The reason why they sold so well is because of the smooth mellow voice of Andy Williams. I hope you can buy and enjoy this one!"
Andy's Best!

"I have waited many years for "Love, Andy" to be available on CD. I thought it would never happen! Then, two years ago I bought this dual CD. It was just in time as the last few nanomicrons of vinyl were remaining in the grooves. Even after almost forty years, this music still sounds as good today as it did on the old hi-fi! Now that "Space Age Bachelor Pad" music is in vogue, it's time to get a copy. Andy gives Davy Jones a run for his moolah with "I Want to Be Free," but things really start with "You Are Where Everything Is." "Somethin' Stupid" is a fave as well as the beautiful and airy "Watch What Happens." "When I Look in Your Eyes" is a beautiful yet haunting song, and Andy finishes up with a lovely tribute to Brian Wilson with "God Only Knows."
Do not pass over this CD, which contains Andy's best work!"
Williams at his best

"These 1967 albums find Andy Williams in superb voice surrounded by lush orchestrations and repertoire of good songs. He takes on many covers of best-selling songs of the time and performs them admirably. Especially good are Kisses Sweeter Than Wine, Sunny, The Look of Love and Watch What Happens. Williams' Music to Watch Girls By has become a cult hit and one listen makes you understand why. In the mid to late 60's Williams was finding his range and selecting good music to sing, unlike his earlier albums, which featured one or two great songs and then a selection of also rans. But there is no disappointment in this disc. Enjoy."
Andy Williams at his very best

"The two albums on this CD represent some of the very best mid-60's recordings by Andy Williams. Although most of the songs are covers of songs that were popular at the time, the arrangements have withstood the passing of years without sounding even slightly dated. Andy always had a way of making a familiar song sound fresh and new (actually he still does). "Born Free" contained the hit single "Music To Watch Girls By" as well as the title hit. "Love, Andy" contained the easy listening hit "Holly" and a mind blowing cover of the Beach Boys' "God Only Knows" that was never released as a single, but should have been.
The two albums were released at opposite ends of 1967, but the overall quality flows so well between the two that they could have been recorded at the same time. Andy's voice never falters or sounds strained in any way. The music just seems to flow effortlessly from him, which probably means that he put a tremendous amount of effort into his singing.
Andy Williams recorded many recordings that may be better know than what is contained here, but this cd will bring a smile to your face from the first song to the last. Grab it while you can, you won't be sorry."
