"This is a double CD collection featuring classic soundtrack recordings the 20th Century Fox films The Gang's All Here, Hello Frisco, Hello, Tin Pan Alley and Three Little Girls In Blue. It features the performances of Alice Faye, June Havoc, Jack Oakie, John Payne, Betty Grable, June Haver, Vivian Blaine and Carmen Miranda. While the concept of putting these four films onto CD is a wonderful idea, the mastering on them is terrible. I have heard better recordings of these soundtracks from old vinyl issues from the 60s and 70s. I was astonished how many pops, hisses and clicks there were in this recording, considering it is allegedly re-mastered. Another absurdity is the cover of this CD, which prominently features a picture of Carmen Miranda despite the fact that Miss Miranda is only on one track in this entire two CD set and she shares the spotlight with Benny Goodman. There are far better CDs out there featuring Alice Faye, Betty Grable, and Carmen Miranda. Sure, it was an inexpensive purchase, however it's a shame the company who released this didn't take a little more time to clean up this recording before releasing it."
