Synopsis

Product Description
This is a follow up to our previously issued Alice Faye CD 'Slowly (Something Old, Something New) (SOY 2004) featuring Alice singing songs from the many Hollywood Musicals in which she appeared, most notably those which featured songs written by Irving Berlin and Harry Warren with lyrics by Mack Gordon and Leo Robin. There are also two bonus tracks, Go In And Out Of The Window composed by Lew Pollack and Walter Bullock from Alice's 1939 movie 'Tail Spin' and I'll See You In My Dreams composed by Isham Jones and Gus Kahn, featured in the 1939 Fanny Brice Bio-pic 'Rose Of Washington Square. ' The Irving Berlin tunes come from 'On The Avenue' (1937) with backing by Paul Whiteman And His Orchestra and the multi Academy Award winning musical 'Alexander's Ragtime Band. ' Harry Warren's music was featured in Alice's movies, 'Tin Pan Alley' (1940), 'That Night In Rio' (1941), 'The Great American Broadcast' (1941), 'Weekend In Havana' (1941), 'Hello Frisco, Hello' (1943) and 'The Gang's All Here' (1943). An excellent CD for Alice Faye fans and movie buffs alike.
