"First a warning to all who own the Albion Christmas Band's last 3 CD's, this is a compilation of those three CD's. For those who do not own any of the last three CD's I recommend this CD first. This compilation is comprised exclusively of winter carols sung in a traditional English country manner that can conjure up images of young Scrooge at old Fezziweg's Christmas parties. This is a fresh departure from the over commercialized Christmas music we are bombarded with each Christmas season. The song list contains both religious and secular songs. This CD does not contain any of the spoken word segments that permeate the previous 3 CD's which are interesting for historical value on one hand and annoying if you just want to hear continuous song. I believe all the songs are traditional and none are original material. In my opinion this is a plus as I often find the original Christmas songs by contemporary artist - even those who are based in traditional - lack that certain timelessness and familiarity that makes the old carols endure across generations."
