"This is a lovely album, full of soft, corny, super-romantic British "sweet band" vocals, by one of the greatest vocalists of the pre-WWII era. If you like flowery, sentimental crooning, this music is the tops."
The Complete Flexi-Discs From The Early Thirties

"Al participated in the making of six cardboard Durium records, which carried two tracks on their laminated side, and two plastic Filmophone records, giving a total of sixteen titles, all of which are here. By way of fillers we have the side he recorded for Jay Wilbur, two with Roy Fox, and seven with Ray Noble. Given the age and fragility of the flexi-discs some surface noise is inevitable, but that's worth tolerating to hear these gems from Al Bowlly's heyday.
