CD ReviewsThe Incredible Wow!!! Batmanbrb | Seymour, IN United States | 06/05/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "This was the Judds first release, which was a mini-lp and tape at the time. If you have liked the Judds at all and do not own this, you are missing out on some great stuff!! In fact, over time, I have come to cherish this release the most over all their releases. It is so down-home, intimate, and their harmonies were exceptional. I loved "Had a Dream", which was their first single. "John Deere Tractor" is a touching song about a daughter finding city life to be somewhat unbearable and longing for the country-life again. (By the way, THIS VERSION of John Deere Tractor is better than the one on their Greatest Hits Vol. 2). Of course, "Mama He's Crazy" is on this, plus my two favorite songs of theirs; the very fun and bouncy "Blue Nun Cafe" and the equally fun and entertaining "Isn't He a Strange One". The more recent version of this release contains "Cry Myself to Sleep" and "Dream Chaser" which were also featured on the "Rockin' with the Rhythm" release. If you love the Judds harmonies, this is a must-have!! It will not disappoint you if you cherish meaningful, fun, intimate 'daughter-to-mother' songs with angelic harmonies." A MUST have James Hanson | Wyoming, USA | 08/12/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "Awesome debut cd for The Judd's, who have became two of *THE* most successful country singers. This is what started it all. Wynonna is known for her powerhouse vocals while mama Judd (Naomi) is know for her perfect harmonies. All of the songs are just terrific. Though my personal favorites are Mama He's Crazy (which was their first of fourteen number one songs) Cry Myself to Sleep (another number one), Change of Heart (another number one), and John Deere Tractor. If you like country, even if you don't, you should check out this album, and indeed all of the Judd's music. " What can I say? They did NO wrong! Bill Board | God's Wrath, Ohio | 03/29/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "Back in the (musically) VILE, vile eighties, I saw what had happened after "punk" & disco interbred, and created "New Wave." No WAY, I thought, and after my old guitarist played the incredible "Cry Myself To Sleep," I gave up and got into country for the rest of the decade. No need to elborate further, just the admission that I put my bass into storage, plicked up my ancient acoustic guitar, and began haunting "country places" on "open mic" nites. And a couple of times, I hit it lucky, and found a lady singer who knew Wynonna's vocal/lead part, who'd let me play acoustic rhythm, and sing Naomi's harmony vocal. OK, that being said, everything on the cd "Wynonna & Naomi" has been released on various other cd of theirs - except: "Isn't He A Strange One." TRY it: I guarantee it'll stand up againgt ANYTHING Linda Ronstadt ever did, and almost Emmylou Harris. Don Potter, their guitarist, was to "the" Judds what Keith Richards is to the Stones, and here, at the start of their career, Wy And Mama hadn't let "Hollywood" get to them - and the music on the first 2 cds (and this one) are, almost literally, a blast of fresh country air in your face. Again: LISTEN TO THIS!"
