If you received a CD you didn't request (a title you don't recognize), most likely the sender put the wrong CD into the SwapaCD Wrapper with your address on it.
- The CD you received may have been requested by another member, who may have gotten your CD.
- It is also possible that the sender reprinted a wrapper she or he used to send you a CD in the past, and sent this CD to you instead of to its proper requestor.
- If the SwapaCD wrapper was used, check the second page of the wrapper to see the title of the CD that was supposed to be sent to you using this wrapper.
A burned (homemade copy) of a CD is also considered a wrong CD.
- If you receive a burned CD please contact us immediately. These are illegal.
How to find the sender of the CD to sort this out:
-
If the SwapaCD wrapper was used, check the second page of the wrapper to see the title of the CD that was supposed to be sent to you using this wrapper.
-
If page 2 of the SwapaCD Wrapper was not used, check your active transactions:
- Go to the En Route to Me tab in My Account.
- You can get there by clicking My Account in the toolbar at the top of the site, and then clicking the En Route to Me tab (scroll down if necessary to see this tab).
- Compare the state of origin on the package return address with the state of origin of each CD on your CDs en Route tab in My Account. The state shows on the right of the transaction, in the "speech bubble" containing your address.
- and sent your CD to another requestor, he or she can offer each of you credit or postage to send the CDs to one another; the sender can provide the addresses in Personal Messages. When each of you get the correct CDs, you can mark them received.
- and he or she still has the CD she was supposed to send you, he or she can offer to send the correct CD to you. You are not obligated to send the extra CD back, but it is a nice thing to do, especially if the sender is a new member.
- If he or she didn't send you this CD, or if there is no CD on your En Route to Me tab that was mailed from the same state as the return address on the CD you received, check your Transaction Archive, as described below.
- If this sender does not respond to your PM, or does not send you the correct one (or you do not receive the correct one from the other requestor):
- You can also mark this CD received as a Wrong CD
- This will refund your credit and SwapaCD money and will also note this Problem transaction on the sender's account
- One problem transaction will not affect a sender's account standing. A pattern of problem mailing will jeopardize SwapaCD membership, however.
-
Then, check your past transactions:
There is also the possibility that you ordered a CD online (e.g., from Amazon.com), and this was an incorrect shipment outside of SwapaCD.
If you cannot figure out who sent you the CD, you can contact us to ask us to investigate. Please provide the CD title, artist and whatever information you have for the sender's return address on the package.
