Can anyone name an obscure metal band from the mid 80s who released an album called "The Morning After"? As I recall, the album art featured a drawing of a young metalhead who was passed out in the middle of his bedroom floor with albums, beer cans and clothes strewn all over the floor. It was pretty forgettable music overall, but there was a song on the CD called "Try Again" that I liked a lot. The only other hints I have are that the album was released by a smaller label, I think Metal Blade or Roadrunner. I'm pretty sure that the band name started with a letter at the end of the alphabet as I always kept my tapes in alphabetical order and this tape was towards the end of my collection. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Matt Last Edited on: 8/13/06 2:54 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I googled the album and song title and came up with a band called "Tankard." Here are the lyrics to "Try Again" Try! When every day life starts to get you down And your problems seem too many When your job is shit, the rent is due And you're down to your last penny Where do you go? Who do you count on When there's no place left to hide? When your parents don' like you and they told you so They wish that you had died Refrain: I look at you - and I know what to do I look at you - I know what to do I look at you - and I know what to do I look at you - I know what to do They gotta try! Now I'm not here to preach or tell you The way you got to live Just stop and thing about what you want And what you want to give Goddammit life is what we're here for Then better get away from me Refrain Try again! You got to get up in the morning and try again Not tomorrow - do it today Young or old, it don't matter man Don't let your life slip away You got take a chance - push yourself Stand up for what you know is right Don't take no shit from anyone Let'em know that you're ready to fight Try again! Now, there's no easy answers But here's my final advice to you Take control of your life, man Work hard and follow thru And if a friend is travelling a rocky roa Then help him on his way Tell him that he's got to try again And try harder every day Refrain Repeat 3rd verse |

Bingo! That's the one, thanks Wunderkind. I have tried to use Google in the past to find this album with no success; I haven't tried it in a year or two. Matt |
