Are multiple cd albums more then one credit? For example, Pink Floyd's The Wall is a two cd album, would it cost one credit or two? Also, if multiple disc albums are two credits are there two processing fees as well?

Thanks.

Multiple disc albums only cost 1 credit. There is also only 1 processing fee for multiple disc albums.

What about the multiple CD collections that are in the collector case?

I'm not sure if Collector Case is the right terminology but they are the cases that are tall (little more than 2 disc height) and open like books. They aren't plastic, in fact, one of mine is linen covered.

I've got some like that -- probably not willing to part with them, but may be looking for a few more.

I will be mailing out a 4 disc box set in the next few days. The set is stored in a booklet format where there are 2 discs on the inside of the front hard cover and 2 discs on inside on the back hard cover. The traditional SACD wrapper is for a single CD and the CD must be wrapped in a rectangular format per USPS. Can I just put the box set into a 9x12 brown envelope and still have it meet USPS requirements?

Sure. You don't HAVE to use the wrapper at all. I use folded cardboard. If you do use the wrapper, then you need to fold it rectangular or pay extra shipping.

I didn't mind on PBS if a more expensive item was still only one credit, b/c I know with books there's a good chance I'll get back as many expensive books as I send out. I'm not comfortable that this site will work that way. I have a few CD sets I'd be willing to swap if it was one credit per CD, but not if it's one credit for the whole boxed set. There's just not that much chance I'm ever going to order an entire set here, so it doesn't even out in the long run.

So the 2-CD set I sent out will yield me only one credit and only cost the requester one credit. Uhm, no.

I love the concept of this site but there's just too many drawbacks. I don't think I'll be continuing my membership unless they work out some of the issues.

Most CDs are single discs.

I don't think I'd use the site for multiple-CD sets, but those are the minority of CDs. I just don't list those, and don't really see it as a huge drawback.

I think it's a lot like PBS, where you can have a set of books that has one ISBN (like the Complete Calvin & Hobbes collection). Yes, it's unfair that something big and heavy and expensive only costs one credit. But then, most people don't list those things.

Is it really that difficult to make it a flat 1 credit per CD? Even over at PBS it costs more to receive an audiobook vs a paper book so it's not like it would be unheard of.

I actually wish they would do away with this and just make everything one credit at PBS, too. It's pretty arbitrary the way it is. I wanted to get a single disc audiobook at PBS and it cost me two credits. But I've sent and received numerous hardcovers there that were more expensive than that audiobook and they only cost one credit.

So far I've listed one 2-disc set here. I've also received one, too, so that works okay for me. I don't think I'd list any sets with more than 2 discs, though.

I have one CD I would really like to post here because I'm sure it would get snapped up and I don't really like it that much. Problem is, not only is it a 2 CD set, it also has a DVD included with the videos that go with the songs on the CDs. I can't imagine giving it up for only one credit. If someone was willing to order the 2 CD set for 1 credit and then buddy me a second credit for the DVD, I would be fine with that, but I doubt R&R would go for it...

I agree totally with you Cheryl and have posted over at PBS a couple of times about changing the audiobooks to 1 credit.

I agree, Sheryl, I wouldn't list a cd set with more than 2 discs. When we get some real guidelines for the Bazaar, maybe there will be a way to offer some of the bigger sets there. One of the 2-cd sets I have only has about 3 tracks on the 2nd cd - it sure wouldn't be worth more that one credit.
